Ozark Oak & Magnolia Leaf Litter – House Blend | Leaf Layer by Arachnidirt

Hand-harvested from private Ozark forest land. A two-leaf blend that feeds your cleanup crew now and later.

Collected by hand from private, forested land in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains. Every fall, these hardwood forests go from deep green to rust, gold and copper, and the leaves that drop become the forest floor’s main food source and cover. We gather them at that point and blend two species on purpose.

Why two leaves?
Magnolia leaves soften and break down faster, so your isopods and millipedes have food right away. Oak leaves are tough and high in tannins, so they last for months and keep feeding the enclosure long after the magnolia is gone. Together they give your enclosure a steady, layered food source instead of a single boom-and-bust cycle.

What it does in your enclosure

• Food: Breaking-down leaf litter is a staple food for isopods, millipedes and springtails.
• Cover: Layered leaves create hides and humidity pockets, which help with molting, breeding and reducing stress.
• Bioactive support: It feeds the fungi and bacteria that drive a healthy bioactive cycle.
• Natural look: Real Ozark forest-floor color and texture for display builds.

Great for
Isopods · Millipedes · Springtails · Bioactive vivariums · Terrestrial tarantulas · Scorpions · Dart frogs · Small reptiles

How to use
Spread a layer 1–2" deep across the substrate surface. Mist or moisten as needed. Replenish as your cleanup crew eats through it. You’ll see the magnolia go first.
