Choosing a Size & Setup:
Semi-fossorial tarantulas thrive in enclosures with 4–8 inches of substrate—deep enough for burrowing but with ample surface area for webbing and exploration. Choose an enclosure about 2–3 times the spider’s leg span in width and 1.5–2 times in height to allow for décor and movement.

Keeper Tip:
Combine cork bark hides or partial tunnels with surface décor to let your spider choose between burrowing or webbing. These species often display both surface and underground behavior, so a hybrid setup brings out their most natural habits and makes for an engaging display.
