Pre-Order: This enclosure is in production. Your order reserves your spot in the first production run. Estimated ship time will be listed on the product page and product title.
Made to Order: Ships within 6–8 weeks. In rare cases, up to 12 weeks. We'll keep you updated every step of the way.
If the product listing does not say either of these, then it is in stock and ready to ship the same week. International orders may take slightly longer.
Pre-Order & Made to Order Enclosures – What to Expect
Some Tarantula Cribs enclosures are listed as Pre-Order or Made to Order. This will always be clearly stated on the product page. Here is what each means:
Pre-Order Pre-order enclosures are in production. By placing a pre-order, you are reserving your spot in the first production run. Estimated ship dates are listed on each product page and will be communicated via email as production progresses. Pre-orders are fulfilled in the order they are received — earlier orders ship first. In summary, these enclosures are currently in production and made regardless of orders being placed, however your order reserves your enclosure.
Made to Order Made-to-order enclosures are built after your order is placed. They are not sitting in a warehouse — every unit is produced fresh to maintain the quality standards our enclosures are known for. In summary, these enclosures are only made if a customer places an order. Therefore they may take longer to ship than a pre order.
- Standard lead time: 6 to 8 weeks
- In rare circumstances: up to 12 weeks
- You will be notified if your order is impacted by an extended lead time
If an enclosure does not say "Pre-Order" or "Made to Order," it ships the same week your order is placed.

Building to order means every enclosure is produced fresh — no shelf-worn stock, no compromised clarity, no cuts to quality. It also allows us to offer custom configurations like background colors and modular lid options that would be impossible to stock in every variation. Pre-orders allow us to gauge demand accurately and bring new enclosures to market without sacrificing build quality.
